Our services.

  • Project delivery

At TEC, our experienced staff can provide practical support with planning, project management, community engagement, research, strategy, and day-to-day delivery.

As a community-based organisation, we understand the importance of listening to local voices and creating projects that reflect the needs and aspirations of the people they serve. We bring experience, local knowledge, and a collaborative approach to everything we do. No matter the size of your project, we're here to help turn ideas into action and create positive change for our environment and our communities.

  • Education

Education is one of our fundamental kaupapa, we believe an informed community is an empowered community.

We work alongside local schools, kura, home-schooling communities, businesses and organisations to deliver environmental education across Tairāwhiti. Alongside our own workshops, we provide space, resources, and support for partners to deliver learning opportunities for their communities.

Our own education activities range from practical workshops on composting and food preservation, to wider community campaigns that raise awareness about issues such as pest control and the impacts of urban litter. Through hands-on learning and community engagement, we help people build the knowledge and confidence to take action for the environment.

  • Resource recovery

TEC provides a range of practical, everyday services that make it easier for our community to reduce waste, reuse resources, and live more sustainably.

Our recycling depot accepts a variety of items that can't be collected through curbside recycling, including batteries, lightbulbs, Tetra Paks, and coffee pods. We also host a community pātaka kai, a frock swap rack, and a reuse library stocked with useful items such as jars, egg cartons, and other materials that can be given a second life. Visitors can also make use of our refill station for products such as soaps, shampoos, and household cleaners.
